Last Saturday, our company had its team building at Gratchi’s Getaway in Tagaytay. I didn’t really know what to expect from it, except that I will be out in the sun most of the time. I have been warned to bring all the necessary things to keep me comfortable throughout the day. On hindsight, I wished I heeded the warning, so I didn’t have to deal with this heat rash. But that’s not what this post is all about.
Just a few hours away from the Manila, Gratchi’s Getaway is going to be a welcome sight for people who are used to the cramped, crowded, and busy streets of the city.
With a 6-hectare land area, the place gives you more than enough space to run around, sweat, and enjoy the summer sun.
[At kung may pinagdadaanan ka, no need to go to Sagada. Akyat ka lang sa tower at dun mo isagaw ang “Ayoko naaa!” #hugot]
The day started with a delicious (albeit late) breakfast and then we proceeded to some indoor activities headed by Gilbert and Jayzelle, our awesome facilitators from PlayWorks Team Building.
First up on the list of indoor activities was Hyperlink, where we needed to find another person (from a different team) with whom we share a common thing on the list we’ve created earlier. The goal was to make one big circle — and in the process, learn a few things about our colleagues.
We spent the morning doing other fun indoor activities that aimed to nurture teamwork and even challenged our skills at
building bridges and drawing.
Please excuse my work of art.
One of the highlights of the day was The Great Farm Race, where we got the chance to explore the resort, going from one station to the next, trying to beat the other teams to the finish line.
Around the Resort
The next day, I had the chance to leisurely roam around the resort and snap some photos.
Gratchi’s Getaway isn’t just for companies looking for a place to hold their team building activities. You can visit the resort with your family and friends too.
If you’re looking to disconnect from your busy life for a few days, this is the perfect place to do it. With a lot of things to see and do around the resort, you wouldn’t want to spend time hunched over your tablet or smartphone checking out your social networks.
Gratchi’s Getaway is also a great place for kids to appreciate the outdoors. It could be an educational trip for them too, as the farm is home to different animals, including turkeys, pigs, chickens, civet cats, and more.
There’s also this ostrich that’s not shy to pose for the camera.
After a fun day around the farm, take a dip in their Waterfall Infinity Pool. There’s one for the kids too.
This summer, take your vacation to a different route. Skip the crowded beach, disconnect from your social networks, and reconnect with people closest to your heart.
